How the program Works
The first step in the adoption process is to pick your favorite animal at the zoo. Make sure you observe them all equally and decide which animal gave you that look of adornment when you walked by or simply, which one amused you the most.
The second step is to acquire an adoption form either by printing one off this website or by coming to the zoo and getting a form from the receptionist at the cash register.
The third step is to come up with twenty five dollars and return the completed adoption form and money to the zoo via mail, fax, or hand delivery to the receptionist.
After you have completed these three steps, the zoo staff will do the rest of the work. We will mail you a biofacts sheet giving you all the information that you need to know on your adopted animal, a 4X6 colored photograph of the animal, and a personalized adoption certificate. Also, the following year, we will place your name on our "Adoption Parents" wall so that all our visitors will see and acknowledge your generosity and kindness.

Program Objective
The staff at Wilderness Trails Zoo is always searching for ways to improve the overall well being of the animals at the zoo and to create ways to make each visit to the zoo a different exciting experience for each individual. Every penny contributed to the Adoption Program at Wilderness Trails Zoo goes towards these improvements such as enrichment activities (objects that stimulate an animal either physically or mentally (see "enrichment" page on website)) and habitat improvements (trees, plants, expansion plans, and wood for platforms or climbing objects) that promote active and healthy lives for the 50 species in our care.
